Welcome to the Yorkleigh internet notice board. Here you will find current up to date information about the practice, it's services, opening times etc. Please let me have feedback or suggestions. Dr Ian McPherson.
Although Swine Flu has not caused us as many problems as feared (yet), there do seem to be a lot of bugs going around - not unusual for this time of year. Mostly, people are unwell for about a week with the usual viral symptoms - feeling hot and cold with aches and pains and a temperature. The vast majority of people will not need any intervention but a few do seem to start to get better and then get worse again. If this is the case, having a word with one of the Duty Team would be a good idea.
We are well into our routine seasonal influenza vaccinations and you will have had, or will have, a letter if you are in at at-risk group. The Swine Flu (AKA H1N1) vaccinations have been delivered - we will offer immunisation to the high risk groups first.
Already plans are being made to cover services over the Christmas and New Year period. We will be open as usual but will not be taking any routine bookings for the period 21st December to 5th January to allow us to deal with emergencies efficiently.
The surgery will be closed on all Bank Holidays over the next year:
2009:
December 25th and 28th
2010:
January 1st
April 2nd and 5th
May 3rd
May 30th
August 30th
December 27th and 28th
PLEASE NOTE THAT BABY CLINIC TIMES ARE CHANGING IN THE NEW YEAR:
From January you will be able to pre-book an appointment with the Health Visitor between 1.30pm and 2.30pm every Wednesday. 'Drop-in' patients are still welcome and will be seen between 1.30 and 3.30pm.
